Dual Channel Electronics in a Stand Alone Enclosure

Capacitec now offers stand alone dual channel electronic amplifier packages, with a choice of Capteura® 220 series or 520 series dual amplifier cards, housed in the same small rugged aluminum enclosure as the single channel with an external envelope of 9.5″ X 4.25″ X 1.25″ (241mm x 108mm x 32mm). This configuration offers a more cost effective option than the multi-slot rack with 2 single channel cards.

All models are compatible with the full range of new and existing Capacitec displacement sensor probes and thin film wands. Each configuration includes a built in 200-CP oscillator module and an external AC/DC universal power adapter (105 to 240 VAC). The unit is also available a with a DC/DC converter with a 5-12 VDC power input range. A 12 foot (3.6 meters) analog output cable and a 12 foot (3.6 meters) target grounding cable are included. The standard single ended analog output is 0-10VDC, with optional 0-5VDC, -10VDC – 10VDC. Differential analog output is also standard upon request.

Selection of the new Capteura® dual channel card models depends on the customer’s preferred features such as output signals, frequency required and overall accuracy. The available dual channel amplifiers now offered are listed below:

Model 220 Dual Channel Amplifier Cards

The Capteura® 220 Series Modular non-contact capacitive displacement instrumentation packages are the next generation to the 4000 series. Introduced in 2012, the new Capteura® 220 Series offers Capacitec’s highest stability and lowest noise solution with ESD protected inputs for displacement measurements when used in conjunction with any of Capacitec’s line of non-contact displacement, gap and brake rotor wear sensors.

Choices of amplifier cards are:

220-S series: Dual Channel capacitive amplifier with linearity to ±1% of full scale

220-SL series: Dual channel capacitance amplifier with linearity to ±0.2% of full scale
Model 220 Dual Channel Stand Alone Enclosures

The options for the 220 enclosures are:

  • 220-S amplifier 1% linearity
  • 220-SL amplifier 0.2% linearity with a 200-L, LIN module (plug in)
  • 200Hz, 4kHz and 12kHz output frequency responses (select one when ordering)
  • BNC (standard) or optional custom Microdot (MB) input connectors
  • -DAQ 8-channel, 14 Bit, 48 KSPS, single ended data acquisition card

Model 520 Dual Channel Stand Alone Enclosures

Introduced in 2013, the new Capteura® 520 Series continues to offer Capacitec’s super-linear, and now additionally super stable and lowest noise solution for displacement measurements when used in conjunction with any of the Capacitec line of displacement, brake rotor wear and shaft orbit sensors. The 520 is the next generation and replacement for the very linear 5100 series but with substantially faster phase response.

The 520 series offers ±0.05% linearity, easy push button calibration, ESD protected inputs, customer selectable frequencies of 200Hz, 4kHz or 16kHz and a DAQ single ended data acquisition card.
The options for the 520 enclosures are:

  • 520-XL amplifier 0.05% linearity
  • 200Hz, 4kHz and 16kHz output frequency responses (user switchable)
  • BNC (standard) or optional custom Microdot (MB) input connectors
  • -DAQ 8-channel, 14 Bit, 48 KSPS, single ended data acquisition card

Dual Channel OEM models

The dual channel OEM models are a “bare bones” dual amplifier card with a 2U, 2.2” x 3.9” (2U, 55.5 x 100 mm) size without any enclosure. The standard single ended analog output is 0-10VDC, with optional 0-5VDC, -10VDC – 10VDC.
 Differential analog output is also standard upon request. A 0.5 meter length mating Power – I/O lock-in cable assembly is included.

An example of a typical 220 Dual Channel OEM model is:
