P101 Stand Alone Linear Position Sensor

The P101 is a durable, affordable, high accuracy stand alone linear inductive position sensor designed for use in scientific and industrial applications.
Like all Positek sensors the P101 provides a linear output that is proportional to the displacement. The P101 is very compact and offers an excellent stroke to overall length ratio. Each unit is supplied calibrated to the exact travel required by the customer, for example, if your application requires 10″ (254 mm) measurement then Positek will manufacture the sensor specifically for this length.The mechanical length and calibration will be set up for 254 mm.the P101 is available with any travel from 50mm to 600mm.

The overall performance, repeatability and stability are outstanding over a wide temperature range. The sensor is very robust, manufactured from stainless steel the P101 has a long service life and strong environmental resistance and is particuarly suitable for applications that require good sensor performance in harsh environments such as industrial machinery where cost is important.

The P101 is easy to install with either M5 rod eye or body clamps. The push rod can be supplied captive or free with either M5 thread, M5 rod eye or ball end. The rod can be spring loaded if required in either direction on sensors with a stroke length of up to 250mm. The P101 is available with a wide range of electrical inputs/outputs, sealing up to IP65/IP67 dependant on connector/cable options and fully integrated EMC protection.

Intrinsically Safe systems provide a safe operating environment for personnel and equipment. Intrinsic Safety (IS) is based on the principle of restricting the  electrical energy transmitted into a hazardous area, thereby ensuring that any sparks or heated surfaces that may occur as a result of electrical failures are insufficient to cause ignition. The threat of an explosion is eliminated.

Positek’s ATEX and IECEx approved Intrinsically Safe sensors can be used in hazardous environments when connected to our approved galvanically isolated amplifier. Positek offers Intrinsically Safe sensors for the following three hazard classifications:

  • ‘A’ Series ANZEx Approved Intrinsically Safe Sensors for Gas/Vapour, Dust and Mining.
  • ‘X’ Series Sensors Position Sensors for use in potentially explosive gas/vapour atmospheres.
  • ‘E’ Series Sensors Position Sensors for use in potentially explosive gas/vapour and dust atmospheres.
  • ‘M’ Series Sensors Position Sensors for use in potentially explosive gas/vapour, dust and mining environments.

The sensors must be used with a galvanically isolated three port amplifier
designed to supply the sensor with a nominal 5V and to transmit the buffered
