Micro-Measurements® CEA series strain gages: fit for composite materials

INTRODUCING MICRO-MEASUREMENTS® CEA SERIES STRAIN GAGES

Micro-Measurements®, a Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (VPG) brand, has just announced that it has released three CEA series strain gages, designed for compression tests on polymer matrix composite materials.

The three new patterns: 062UB, 125UB and 250UB are made with solder tabs situated on one side of the sensing grid so that the sensors can be properly positioned onto the composite materials with the sensing grid remaining centered onto the testing area.

OTHER FEATURES INCLUDE

• Unique pattern for one-sided “close proximity” strain measurements such as weld joints, structural discontinuities or stress risers like holes and cracks
• 350 ohm to minimize self-heating
• Thin, flexible cast polyimide carrier backing and encapsulation, and rugged, copper-coated solder tabs resulting in quick and simple soldering
• optional pre-attached lead wires, eliminating the chance of heat damage
